The opening of the featurette appeared to be like
chaos, with Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne walking through Gotham City. And from
there, he rises, and we can hear Reeves’ promise an “emotional Batman movie”
that we have never seen before. Reeves also said it is going to be “radically
different” from any other Batman films that we’ve already seen.
Robert Pattinson also shared about how so many people
have connected to the Batman character, and about how the movie project is a
passion for Reeves. On the other hand, Reeves also mentioned that the film is “grounded
the way Year One is, referring to “Batman: Year One,” the groundbreaking 1987
miniseries that was written by Frank Miller, which also happens to be the
primary basis for Christopher Nolan’s “Batman Begins.”
Pattinson also said in the featurette that, “For some
reason, Batman has always stood as one of the major characters of the 20th
century.” He also added that, “all fights seem very personal” to the character
in the upcoming movie.
Robert Pattinson who will play the iconic role of
Bruce Wayne and Batman will be joined by Zoe Kravitz who will play as Selina
Kyle as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton aka the Riddler, and John
Turturro who will be playing Carmine Falcone. Meanwhile, Andy Serkis will play
Alfred Pennyworth and Colin Farrell will play as the Penguin. Jeffrey Wright
will be Commissioner Gordon, Peter Saarsgard will play as the Wasserman, and
Jayme Lawson will also be joining the cast.
Matt Reeves described his movie project as a “defining”
and “very personal” story about the Dark Knight, rather than an origin story in
the vein of Frank Miller’s beloved “Year One” series. Reeve’s film will be exploring
Bruce Wayne’s second year as the Dark Knight detective, according to sources with
knowledge of the project.
Reeves’ “The Batman” will be landing on the big screen
in 2022.
