And just recently, BTS has teamed up with Hot Girl Summer herself, none other than Megan Thee Stallion. On Friday, BTS launched the remix of their hit song, “Butter,” that they collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion.

I love BTS so I’m super excited to be on the ‘Butter’ remix. I can’t wait for all the Hotties and ARMY to hear it.

– Megan Thee Stallion

The famous rapper loves the remix so much that she even went to court to get it released. A judge ruled in Megan’s favor, earlier this week, after the rapper claimed that her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, and CEO Carl Crawford were doing everything they could to prevent her from putting out the song with BTS.

Based on the documents that, “Megan’s creative self-expression in the feature track with BTS will not only expand her fanbase here in the United States but also internationally. If Megan is prohibited from releasing the feature track this Friday, her music career will suffer irreparable damage, including devastating her relationships with her fans and with other recording artists in the music industry including BTS.”

What Do the 'Butter' Remix Lyrics Mean?

Big Hit Music, BTS’s label, has described the single as a “shimmering summer song,” the lyrics to “Butter” paid homage to the late 1990s, said Jenna Andrews, who is one of the song’s co-writers.

We thought it would be cool to bring up late ‘90s references: Usher, rock with me, I look in the mirror, like “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson – lyrics that paid homage to that time period.

Ron Perry, also a co-writer and co-producer of the hit single, during an interview with Variety back in June said, “When Jenna played me the hook, I had a vision for this song that was Michael Jackson ‘Smooth Criminal’ meets Daft Punk.”

Meanwhile, BTS Jimin also explained according to Variety that, “If you hear the title ‘Butter’, you know immediately that we tried to prepare a song that’s easy listening, instead of something with a really heavy or profound message.” “This is a little embarrassing, but it’s something smooth like butter, that really melts into and grabs hold of you. It’s a very cute song, sort of a confession.”

When the band was asked what message they hoped to send the listeners with the song, BTS Jungkook said back in May, “Butter is very simple. It’s getting warmer and will get hotter, and we hope that you can spend a fun summer with BTS.”

In the remix version of Butter, the second verse by Megan Thee Stallion continues the original track’s summer theme and reference to retro artists such as Stevie Wonder.

And finally, the feature track was released according to plan…
