The World Phenomenal K-Pop Group, BTS, has officially canceled their ‘Map of the Soul Tour’ amid ongoing pandemic. They won’t be touring after all.

“Map of the Soul Tour” has been officially canceled for
now, the group’s record label Big Hit Music made the announcement in a
statement posted on Weverse and has been verified by multiple media outlets.
“Our company has worked hard to resume preparations
for the BTS Map of the Soul Tour, knowing that all fans have been waiting eagerly
and long for the tour,” the statement read. “Due to changing circumstances beyond
our control, it has become difficult to resume performances at the same scale
and timeline as previously planned.”
The said tour was originally announced by Big Hit
Music back in January 2020 and was set to kick-off in April 2020. However,
everything was changed and postponed with the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
Momentarily, BTS performed in pay-per-view online
concerts as well as on the 2021 Grammys and released new singles including “Dynamite”
and “Butter.”
However, the ongoing global pandemic has stopped live performances
for the time being.
“We are working to prepare a viable schedule and
performance format that can meet your expectations, and we will provide updated
notices as soon as possible,” Big Hit Music said in their official statement.
BTS Officially Cancels Their Map of the
Soul World Tour
With this announcement from the record label, BTS will
not be going around the world for their Map of the Soul Tour anymore. Due to
the ongoing COVID-19 complications and challenges, the planned tour has
officially been canceled.
With the temporary postponement of the tour became a
16-month break for the group amid the pandemic. BTS members filled the time
with virtual concerts, and Billboard hit singles such as, “Dynamite,” “Butter,”
and “Permission to Dance.”
Though the record label, Big Hit Music, has suggested
live performance may continue; however, no one knows when that might happen
safely. The record label said that they are working to prepare a viable schedule
and performance format that can meet the fans’ expectations, and they will
provide updated notices as soon as possible, while offering their sincerest
apologies to all the ARMYs who have been eagerly waiting for the BTS Map of the
Soul Tour to recommence.
