In the first scene at Cinderella, we see Cabello’s titular character as “Ella,” is evidenced by the signage of her dream dressmaking business, go from the basement to the royal ball. “Life outside this basement starts right now,” Cinderella says over scenes around her home village, in her workshop, and at that fairytale-destined-royal party.
Also, we see Billy Porter’s Fairy Godmother, who wears
a bedazzled, high-collared gown with a clavicle-covering brooch and was asking
Cinderella, “Do you want to go to that ball?” Ella responds that we’re in for a
self-aware ride: “Yes, I was just crying and singing about it like two minutes
ago!”
Meanwhile, Cabello took to social media via Twitter to
share the teaser on Wednesday 30th June, writing, “This was one of
the most magical experiences of my life. I can’t wait for you to see it.”
Amazon Prime’s Cinderella is written and directed by
Pitch Perfect’s screenwriter Kay Cannon, will premiere on September 3rd
on Amazon Prime.
