TWICE, the K-Pop girl group behind ‘Taste of Love’ lands its first no. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart as Taste of Love launches with 43,000 copies sold in the U.S. in the week ending June 17th, based on the MRC Data. That is the record sales week for the nine-member group, and first top 10 for the artists.

CD edition of the album was issued, like many K-Pop
releases, in multiple collectible packages, in this case, four including a Target-exclusive
edition, each with assorted internal paper goods and randomized elements. For
the 43,000 copies sold, the CD editions combined sold 39,000. The rest of the
sales were generated from the album’s digital downloads.
The Korean girl group replaces another K-Pop act at
No. 1, as Tomorrow x Together’s ‘The Chaos Chapter: Freeze, falls 1-9 in its
second week with 14,000 sold, down 65%. The last time 2 K-Pop groups went
back-to-back at No.1 was when Blackpink’s The Album which debuted at No. 1 on
October 17, 2020-dated chart, one week after SuperM’s Super One: The 1st
Album took the top spot back in October 10th-charts.
In addition, on the new Top Album Sales chart, were
from Mammoth WVH, Migos, Polo G, Garbage, Maroon 5 and Prince debut on the top
10 of the music charts.
