Upcoming film digs into a new corner of the Marvel
Cinematic Universe and focuses on Shang-Chi played by Simu Liu, the heir to a
martial arts legacy and son of the villainous Wenwu played by Tony Leung. Other
celebrities include Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian
Munteanu, and Ronny Chieng. This movie project is considered a breaking ground
with Marvel’s first Asian lead.
Why I’m so excited about this movie is that there is not one moment. There are many moments, and there are many characters that you root for and fall in love with. It really is a celebration of Marvel and of superheroes but also of Asian myths. That’s something that we haven’t seen before in a superhero movie.
– Simu Liu
Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is the first
Marvel Studios film to release exclusively in theaters in more than two years. Black
Widow, on the other hand, will debut in theaters and on Disney+ day-and-date. The
movie trailer comes 2 months following Marvel release the first look at the project
back in April. The movie comes during Marvel’s busiest year ever. Adding to its
streaming venture, the studio also has The Eternals coming in on November 5th,
and Spider-Man: No Way Home on December 17th.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will land in
theaters on September 3rd. Watch the new trailer below…
