Friends: The Reunion director has unveiled what ARMYs will
be seeing later this month amid the speculation of BTS appearance in the sitcom.
In the recent release of the sitcom’s official teaser for the Reunion showed
that the original cast members Courtney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Matt
LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, and David Schwimmer will all be returning for the special
episode; however, they won’t be alone. The said reunion will include famous

BTS members, especially RM, are known to be fans of
the American sitcom. In fact, BTS RM noted several occasions that he learned
his impeccable English communication skills by watching ‘Friends.’ Notably, ARMYs
were excited to learn that BTS would be appearing on Friends: The Reunion.
However, Friends: The Reunion director Ben Winston has
taken to social media to clarify and set the expectations about BTS’s
appearance on the reunion special.
“I want to manage your expectations on this,” Winston
started in a reply to veteran ARMY translator @modooborahae on Twitter. Regardless
of the assumptions that BTS could be acting a significant role in the episode,
the director went on to say that BTS’s appearance in Friends: The Reunion will
actually be a “really short moment.”
Aside from that, it seems like BTS will not actually
be acting at all. Rather, Winston says their appearance will be a quick interview
segment where the members talk about why they like Friends. “They’re great of
course,” Winston clarified to ARMYs.
I want to manage your expectations on this – it’s a really short moment from BTS. They are great of course, but they are one of the interviews, talking briefly about why they like friends.

In response to @renkiger, another ARMY on Twitter who
had already guessed that BTS’s appearance would likely be leaning towards RM
talking about how Friends influenced him and showing the cultural importance of
the show worldwide, Ben Winston called the prediction, “Spot on.” Winston
further added that while the interview is “great,” it’s also “short.”
Spot on. Really important to manage expectations. It’s a great but short interview.

Though many fans were disappointed with Ben Winston’s
revelation—especially given that BTS is being hyped as one of the key guest
stars for the episode—ARMYs across Twitter thanked Ben Winston for his honesty
and consideration for the fandom.
Considering that BTS have spoken about Friends previously,
ARMYs may not be able to expect anything new and exciting information from the
reunion special. But, that doesn’t take away from BTS getting a great
opportunity to be part of one of the most-anticipated U.S. television events in
history. Friends: The Reunion is coming to HBO Max on Thursday, May 27th
2021.
