With the new trailer, Cletus Kasady (played by Woody
Harrelson), is a crazy serial killer, who survives a lethal injection behind
bars, which appears to have awaken the symbiote that was inside of him and
transformed Kasady into Carnage. Harrelson and Hardy, whose character Eddie
Brock has made some peace with his alter-ego Venom, battle it out in a massive
symbiote showdown.
The sequel “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” is scheduled
to land on theaters this September 24th 2021. Though it was originally
set for October 2020 release, however, the film has been delayed several times
due to the coronavirus pandemic, and most recently the film was getting pushed
back one more week from September 17th to September 24th.
The film is directed by Andy Serkis who took over
directing duties for this sequel from Ruben Fleischer, who helmed the first
film that brought Venom to the big screen an anti-hero character of some sort. The
first film was a big hit at the box office, yielding $855 million globally and
its September release sets the sequel to do well at the box office as moviegoers
return to cinemas.
Michelle Williams will reprise her role as Anne Weying
along with Reid Scott as Dan Lewis and Naomie Harries as the symbiote ‘Shriek.’
