BTS continues to making history, with the recent release of their new single ‘Butter’, it is already smashing records in the music field.
“Butter” started breaking records the moment it premiered
on 21st May via YouTube Premiere, according to Guinness World
Records. With over 3.9 million concurrent viewers on YouTube, the “Butter”
music video has broken the record for the “most viewers for the premiere of a
video” on YouTube.
The record for “the greatest number of views” was previously
held by none other than BTS’s “Dynamite” MV with 3 million concurrent peak
viewers on the YouTube platform.
“Butter” also smashed the records for “most viewed
YouTube music video in 24 hours” and “most viewed YouTube music video in 24-hours
by a K-Pop group,” again taking the crown from “Dynamite.” “Butter” MV
currently has 226,167,291 views.
Aside from its YouTube dominance, “Butter” is also
taking the top spot at Spotify. It has broken the record for “most streamed
track on Spotify in the first 24 hours” by garnering 11,043,335 global streams.
The record was previously held by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s “I Don’t Care”
with 10,977,389 streams.
BTS became the “most streamed act on Spotify” for
groups as of 27th April this year, with 16.3 billion streams that eventually
has taken over Coldplay with only 16.1 billion streams.
