BTS Jungkook has become the first male K-Pop idol to having a song eligible for RIAA Gold certification for his single “Euphoria.”

Recently, it was announced on March 26th
that Jungkook’s 2018 track – “Euphoria” sold 500,000 units in the United States
making it eligible for a Gold RIAA certificate.
Though BTS has already achieved several RIAA Gold certifications,
but this is the first time a K-Pop idol’s single track that has attained a
colossal success in the US.
For a song, single or an album to qualify for an RIAA
Gold certification, an artist must have sold at least 500,000 units. “Euphoria”
a Jungkook’s solo track which debuted in 2018 has already reached the minimum requirement
to qualify.
It is also eligible for a Gold RIAA Certificate.

Meanwhile, the only other K-Pop artist to have a single
eligible for the gold status of RIAA was from Blackpink Jennie’s song back in
2019.
