Mega Millions Winning Numbers $1 Billion Jackpot Prize, Third Largest in US Lottery History

According to a Mega Millions news release on Saturday, one ticket that matched the six Mega Millions winning numbers for the $1 Billion prize was sold in Michigan.

The winning number combinations are 4-26-42-50-60 and a Mega Ball number of 24, the lottery said. The identity of the ticket owner was not revealed.

The Mega Millions jackpot prize had been increasing since September 15 of 2020, when a winning ticket was sold in Wisconsin.

The odds of scoring the jackpot are one in 302,575,350. Steven Bleiler, a mathematics and statistics professor at Portland State University, said that people should imagine a swimming pool 40-feet-wide, 120-feet-long, and 5-feet-deep, filled with M&M’s, only one of which is green. In order to win, all a player must do is jump in blindfolded and wade around until finding the single green M&M.

The payout for Friday night’s drawing was the second largest in the Mega Millions history and third largest in the history of US lottery, according to the lottery spokesperson Carole Bober Gentry.
