With the recent backing out of Armie Hammer from the “Shotgun Wedding” movie, due to the social media controversy which the actor calls “bulls--- claims” about him.
Josh Duhamel is mooted to replace Armie Hammer in Lionsgate’s
“Shotgun Wedding,” opposite Jennifer Lopez, according to an individual with
knowledge of the project.
“Given the imminent start date of ‘Shotgun Wedding,’
Armie has requested to step away from the film and we support him in his decision,”
a production spokesperson said. Therefore, the role will be recast.
Leaving the project was Hammer’s decision after
messages were leaked claiming to detail the actor’s sex life, including a supposed
interested in cannibalism and rape fantasies, appeared on an Instagram account
under the name House of Effie. The celebrity actor has totally disputed the legitimacy
of the direct messaging or DMs on Instagram.
Mark Hammer and Liz Meriwether wrote the screenplay of
the movie, where it follows a couple hosting a destination wedding with their
lovable but opinionated families, only for the couple to get cold feet and for
the entire wedding party to be taken hostage, forcing the couple to save their
loved ones before they get at each other’s throats.

Josh Duhamel, is popularly known for starring in the “Transformers”
movies is represented by ICM Partners. He recently played the lead role in the
series “Jupiter’s Legacy” and “Think Like a Dog.”
Meanwhile, Saban Films acquired the U.S. rights of “Buddy
Games” – a comedy, last July, which happens to be Josh Duhamel’s directorial
debut.
