Eminem recently debuted his latest music video for his song “Higher” during the ESPN’s UFC 257 Countdown: Poirier vs. McGregor 2 pre-show on ABC. The music video had his fans thinking he was getting into a martial arts competition.
The video clip for the Music To Be Murdered By – Side B track
features footage from ESPN’s coverage of the Ultimate Fighting Championship
alongside Eminem in a boxing ring performing the song. The segment highlighted
a mock interview between ESPN anchor Michael Eaves and UFC president Dana White
talking about the rapper’s chances in a fictional fight.
The said interview went viral, with some people thinking that the clip was real instead of a stunt for his upcoming music video.
The mock interview appears in the middle of the video released
ahead of the Saturday fight. In the video clip, Eminem came out as a fighter
getting ready for a match.
ESPN music director, Kevin Wilson said, “It’s always been
amazing to be able to work with Eminem for promotional and programming content
on various ESPN properties over the years.”
The song is featured in
Eminem’s latest album, “Music To Be Murdered By – Side B,” that was released back
on December 18th 2020. The record is an expanded version, which was
released on January 17th, from his 11th studio album.
